Welcome! VSAM is pleased to announce this year VSAM will once again be attending the Vietnamese Interacting as One conference (VIA-1) at Nortwestern University. We are proud of this long standing tradition and hope you'll be able to join us in this great experience!

About

The Northwestern University VSA in collaboration with UVSA Midwest welcomes all attendees to the 2009 VIA-1 Conference. VIA-1 is an annual event bringing young Vietnamese leaders from all over the country together. Participants come together to collaborate in workshops, make new friends and see old ones, and to just have fun. By coming together, we can hope to achieve solidarity as one group, to collaborate on issues concerning our community and university, and to encourage the growth of VSA student leaders. Each year VSAM takes a group of members to the conference. This year we will be taking 60 members to Northwestern for VIA-1.

Transportation

We will be arranging car pools. Individuals who are able to drive their car will recieve $25.00 off the tranportation and lodging fee. You will be required to pay the full amount upfront, but we'll credit your card once we confirm your status as a driver.

Step 2: Pay for transportation and lodging

It's easy! Click the "Buy Now" button (below) to pay with a VISA, Mastercard, AMEX, or Discover. If you already have a Google account - you can just sign-in and click "Place your order now -- $75.00"



    Regular Registration- includes lodging and transportation. (Drivers of carpoolers and riders of the carpool choose this option as well!)

    Payment Plan - make your next $25.00 payment by 3/15, and 3/31.

    Hotel Only - Not traveling with in the VSAM carpool? Choose this option.

Step 3: Register for the conference

The next step is to register and pay for the conference at the via1.org website.

    Visit http://www.via1.org and register for the VIA-1 conference by March 15th, 2009.

Step 4: Print and submit wavier form

The last step is to print, sign, and return the waiver form. The wavier form is required for each attendee. Attendees under the age of 21 need a signature from a parent/guardian. The wavier form is due on March 31, 2009.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

If you have any questions that aren't addressed, hopefully they will be below.

  1. What if I can't leave at 8:00am on Friday?

    2. If you have class conflictions - we would urge you to address them with your professors well in advance. It's okay to skip classes if you've taken care of the work ahead of time. If you absolutely cannot leave until the evening, we have alternive transportation options for you.

  2. What if I'm volunteering to drive in the carpool?


    3. If you are driving, you will get reimbursed $25.00 on the day we leave.
