-         3 speakers from 3 different generations

-         Covers topics like:

a.       Interaction among different people in society

b.      Stereotyping

c.       How overcome that

2.      VSA Experiences – representatives from participating VSA’s

Success and failures shared to improve each other’s organizations

3.      Careers for young professional (Career Development Staff)

-         Entry-level positions. 

-         How will we help the students?

-         Preparing cover letters, resumes, and salary negotiation

4.      Balance of Vietnamese and American Culture (Possibly Ky Duyen)

      -     First Generation & Second Generation (Traditional and     Americanized Vietnamese issues)

-     Expectations, Similarities & Differences

Nominations


Best Website: This award goes to the VSA whose website stands out the most as a visually attractive and informative site. It must both promote its VSA and also encourage members to participate in its upcoming events.

Most Improved Website: This award goes to the VSA whose website has shown the most improvement since the following year.

Zero to Hero Award: This award goes to the most improved VSA. To the VSA that had started out from a small quiet organization to a large active and wide spread organization on campus.

Biggest Pea in the Pod Award: This award goes to the most active VSA that has the most events throughout the year.

The Open Arms Award: This award goes to the VSA that participates in the community the most. Not only does this include volunteering for local churches and charities, but it also includes helping other organizations out that are in need.

Dedicated Members Award: This award goes to the VSA with the most dedicated members. The most members that consistently take the time to participate in its VSA’s events

Most Tight Knit Award: This award goes to the most organized VSA. The VSA that has all its meetings and events well planned out and is the most prepared for whatever comes its way.

Guidelines:

1. Each entry must include a detailed description on why the VSA is being nominated for that award.
2. A VSA may nominate itself, but must be reasonable with what it is nominating it for.
3. Entries must be submitted before Friday, March 10th, 2006 by midnight.
4. The top organizations will be picked to be voted on during the VIA-1 conference.
5. Every participant in the VIA-1 conference has only one vote per category. Please vote by 6:00pm.
6. Awards will be presented at the banquet on Saturday.
