Invite Letter

November 26, 2005

Dear Students and Young Professionals,

The Vietnamese Student Association of Minnesota (VSAM) cordially invites you to the fourth annual Vietnamese Interacting as One (VIA-1) conference on March 17 to March 19. VIA-1 is about unifying the Vietnamese, Vietnamese American, and the like through learning Vietnamese culture and traditions and by raising social awareness and cultural issues. VSAM hopes to empower leadership roles in our communities to act upon such knowledge and provide a network of resources and communication at this year’s conference.

This year’s theme is Con Rong Chau Tien – The Best of Both Worlds: Merging of
Two Cultures. As Vietnamese American students, we understand the complications of living in two diverse cultures that make us who we are today. Through some of our workshops of diversity, VSA experiences, balance of Vietnamese and American culture, leadership skills/community involvement, public/interpersonal relations, and youth involvement/volunteering, we hope to create a more knowledgeable public that will take action in its community and life.

Besides the workshops and the race, we will be having a banquet followed by a concert from Nhu Loan and Luong Tung Quang on Saturday, March 18th. As part of the banquet, participating VSAs participating at the conference will show off their talents by providing a few minutes of entertainment throughout the evening.

If your organization is interested in attending our event, please contact us at vsam-via1@via1.org or check out our website at: www.vsamn.com/via1. We look forward to having you at our event.

Sincerely,

Co-Coordinators,
